- The council states "there is a limit on the amount of asbestos waste that is accepted" but does not itself say what it is, and points residents toward Kent County Council for further detail.
- How it must be prepared
- The waste "must be kept damp and double bagged or wrapped," with protective gloves and a face mask, and must not be broken or cut.

Cement sheeting, Artex, floor tiles, gutters and water tanks are ours directly. Dartford's own guidance says sprayed coatings, asbestos lagging or insulation and asbestos insulating board "should only be removed by a contractor licensed by HSE," which matches what we tell you: send a photo or let us come and look, and we will say plainly if it is one of those and what to look for when you are choosing a licensed contractor. Soffits and anything in a loft do not get a price until someone has actually looked.

How much does it roughly cost to remove asbestos?
We quote per job, not off a rate card, because access changes the price more than area does. Send a photo and a postcode and you will get a real number back.
Is it illegal to sell a house with asbestos in the UK?
No. There is no legal bar on selling a property with asbestos cement in it, and no duty on a private seller to remove it. A buyer's surveyor will usually flag it, which is why some sellers deal with it before marketing rather than during a sale.
Can I get asbestos removed for free?
Not from us, but Dartford's own household waste depots will take some quantities of asbestos waste, wrapped and prepared correctly. That may cover a small job without needing a specialist at all.
What houses are most likely to have asbestos?
Generally, anything built or extended before 2000, since that is when its use in construction was phased out and finally banned. Garages, sheds and outbuildings are the most common place we find it, whatever the age of the main house.
